About the Project:
The aim with this project is to re-invigorate the ways in which we go about teaching undergraduate students in the higher-education space; not just in relation to how we teach but who we engage in the learning process. This was brought on by the qualitative data I collected and analyzed from students at YorkU. The objective of this project is to: 1) increase diversity of thought, 2) enhance feelings of inclusivity in the higher-ed classroom 3) create a more experiential-based learning environment/practice, 4) re-invigorate teaching and learning practices in the higher-ed space by providing students with a new frame of reasoning + deep thinking
My Contributions:

Formed new, inter-disciplinary collaborations between 3 faculty members from Accounting and 1 faculty member from Geography who will all be piloting Human-Centered Design Thinking (HCDT) in their classroom come Winter 2020. HCDT will be used to teach students how to address todays’ wicked problems

PROGRAM EVALUATION LEAD, STEM’ing UP Program for hEr VOLUTION

About the Project:
The STEM’ing UP Program is a collaborative project between NFP’s and industry within the start-up community in Toronto whose goals are to increase enrollment and engagement of young girls in traditionally male-dominated STEM industries. Our particular target are underprivileged young girls who may have additional barriers to contend with.
My Contributions:

Develop the program evaluation plan of the STEM’ing UP program

Develop relevant KPI’s to measure quality and strength of the program
